Project Profiles

Marty Graff isn’t interested in taking on as much work as he can squeeze in, but in selecting each project carefully-making sure all clients get exactly what they want for the price they can afford. Typical projects include:

  • Family Room additions
  • Garage with office or guest house above
  • Smaller Additions, such as a master bedroom/bathroom suite or kitchen
  • Whole House Renovations, including plumbing installation, rewiring electric, and repainting-a combination face lift and redesign
  • second story additions.
  • Bathroom and Kitchen remodeling, including moving load-bearing walls, creating sloped ceilings and other major structural changes.

In a typical year, Graff Custom Homes & Remodeling builds from two to eight projects. Work performed by the pay rolled, “in-house” crew keeps us on each project roughly 60 percent of the time. That presence helps to maintain a continuity of process throughout the job. Because we perform so many functions on each project, we require far fewer projects per year to meet financial goals. Most of our projects take from two to five months to complete, ranging in cost from $10,000 to $500,000. We constantly blend our schedules for the most efficient use of time.

The “design” part of the business means that we meet with a prospective client, listen to his or her ideas and needs and come away from the meeting with a vision of what the completed project will look like. From that meeting, a construction drawing is prepared, using computer-aided design software that automatically draws elevations and renderings from any angle or view. Drawings are always sufficient in conveying the concept to both the client and the local building inspections department. Our notebook computers make it feasible to bring drawings directly to a client’s home, making plan changes relatively easy and fast. We will work with the client’s plans if they choose to supply them.
